In Springfield, Illinois we visited Lincoln’s Tomb, his Sprinfield home and Presidential Library.
Inside the tomb people on the tour were photographing the walls and the gates and statues like in a museum…. all straight ahead competing for that centered shot.
You can imagine the looks I got when I turned my camera and started taking the photograph this way. I had a older woman say “Can I see how that looks?” and so I pulled it up on the camera and showed her. She then took her camera and angled it and said “I like the way you look at things!”
She made my day and she didn’t even realize it!
This photograph is of William Wallace “Willie” Lincoln’s final resting place in the Oak Ridge Cemetary in Springfield, Illinois. Willie is buried in the Lincoln Tomb alongside his father, mother and brothers Tad and Eddie.
